How does yoga help?
- Work is important. Lord Krishna says योगा कर्मषु कौशलम् Efficiency in action is yoga. But not ordinary stuff. Do whatever you do with whole hearted ness and concentration समत्वं योग उच्यते .A musician when works with concentration creates a symphony of great sounds, a sculptor creates masterpiece, so is a painter. A scientist makes new invention and a writer creates beautiful literature. A unique gift to the world they make that is the work. Not mundane. Ordinary type. Yoga teaches that.
- Bring balance in life; hurrying rushing and working till late is not the way- it is sign of stress. If day is for work, night is for rest. That is the way of nature. If sun rises, it sets too, if birth is there, pain is there- hot-cold; pleasure-pain; success - failure. Both coexist. In this world nothing is isolation. You cannot choose effort or work only. Rest is equally important. Making work only as part of life has filled life of younger generation stressful. Yoga teaches us to relax- equally important to life.
- Yoga teaches importance of relationship. It teaches us how to be understanding, how to be compassionate and cooperative; how to be harmonious not only with yourself but with society and nature. Yoga teaches holistic living.
- Yoga teaches us that you are unique. There is no one like you. You have your strengths. Work on your strengths. Be original. Be authentic. Don’t copy others. Don’t imitate others that fills you with stress. Authenticity allows you to live your own life , at your own terms.
