Yoga definitely reduces weight but you have to take care of your diet as diet plays important role in weight gain or loss.

First of all your enquiry to reduce your weight is laudable and you have taken first step to keep yourself fit and healthy.

Now follow two pronged approach as results would be faster and effective.

Diet

1.Any weight loss program without taking care of diet will sooner or later come to a naught.

2.Eat that much only in terms of calories that your body needs. Any extra calories will result in weight gain only. So put a full stop on the possibility of any further weight gain.


Only some recommendations I can make would be

  1. All homemade foods are good weather it is North Indian or South Indian or any other part. Restrict your fat content( ghee, oil, butter etc). Most of the time culprit is snacks. It is by way of snacks that extra calories are ingested. Choose healthy options always ( salads, soups, idly, roasted grams, home made chapatis, sprouts etc.
  2. Though it is not possible to stop eating out completely in today's times but restrict it to one or at the most twice a week. There also opt for healthy options. The point to remember is not to ingest more calories than required otherwise our efforts will get nullified to that extent.
  3. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink at least three litres of water.
